Archaeologists in the Czech Republic have uncovered the remains of a circular Neolithic structure, known as a 'rondel,' that predates Stonehenge by over 1,500 years. Measuring nearly 60 meters in diameter, the structure consists of complex ditch systems and timber palisades arranged in precise geometric patterns.
The discovery suggests that early Stroked Pottery Culture communities possessed highly organized social structures and astronomical knowledge much earlier than previously thought. The site likely served as a central hub for trade, ritual gatherings, and solar observations for the first settled farmers of Europe.
