Excavations at a thermal spring in Tuscany have revealed an exceptionally well-preserved Etruscan sanctuary. Archaeologists found over twenty bronze statues and thousands of coins immersed in the mud, preserved for over 2,000 years by the mineral-rich waters.
The statues depict deities and figures in ritualistic poses, offering a rare glimpse into Etruscan religious transition before the Roman conquest. The site confirms the spiritual importance of geothermal springs in ancient Italy and the high level of craftsmanship in Etruscan bronze casting.
