A series of petroglyphs depicting hunting scenes and solar symbols has been found at an altitude of 4,500 meters in Ladakh. The rock art is tentatively dated to the Bronze Age, suggesting that ancient nomadic groups inhabited these high-altitude deserts much earlier than previously thought.
The carvings show ibex, snow leopards, and chariots, providing evidence of early cultural exchanges between the Tibetan plateau and Central Asia. Conservationists are now working to document the site before environmental erosion causes further damage.
