Melissa Analía Duré Arias, a prominent scholar from the Universidad Nacional de Asunción (UNA), has launched a new academic cycle and public seminar series titled "Repensando la Filosofía desde Paraguay". This initiative, hosted at the Multi Arte gallery in Asunción, aims to move beyond Western-centric models to explore the unique ontological and political philosophies emerging from Paraguayan history, including critical studies on servitude and national reification.
The course specifically examines the transition from myth to logos within the South American context, contrasting Greco-Roman traditions with the "ontological tension" found in local thought. This scholarship is part of a growing movement to institutionalize a "Philosophy of the Margin," emphasizing how the historical experience of Paraguay provides a distinct lens for understanding contemporary political ethics and social identity.
