World’s Oldest Shipwreck Discovered off Coast of Turkey

Archaeologists have identified what is believed to be the world's oldest shipwreck off the coast of Turkey. The site, located at a depth of approximately 30 meters, contains ceramic vessels and stone anchors that provide significant insight into Bronze Age maritime trade.

The discovery includes amphorae featuring distinct parallel lines and zigzag patterns, likely used for transporting agricultural goods such as wine and olive oil. Researchers also recovered three-holed and single-holed stone anchors, marking a major milestone in maritime archaeology.
