Unlooted 26th-Dynasty 'Master of the Royal Treasury' Tomb Found in Saqqara with Rare Lapis Lazuli Seals

Egyptian authorities have announced the discovery of an intact, unlooted tomb belonging to a high-ranking official named Horemheb, titled 'Master of the Royal Treasury' during the 26th Dynasty. The burial chamber contained a pristine limestone sarcophagus surrounded by hundreds of shabti figures and a unique set of lapis lazuli cylinder seals.

The seals are particularly significant as they feature inscriptions detailing trade relations with the 'Eastern Isles', suggesting a vibrant maritime network. The tomb's murals are exceptionally well-preserved, depicting the official's role in managing the pharaoh's wealth and foreign tributes.
