11th-Century 'Mimamsa-Vidya' Manuscript Discovered in Bihar Explores the 'Philosophy of Epistemological Integrity'

An 11th-century manuscript belonging to the Mimamsa school has been recovered from a village near the ruins of Vikramshila University in Bihar. Titled 'Mimamsa-Vidya', the text focuses on the Philosophy of Epistemological Integrity, explaining how the validity of knowledge is derived from the purity of intent behind the search.

The text is unique because it attempts to bridge the gap between Vedic ritualism and later logical frameworks, providing a missing link in the development of Prabhakara and Kumarila Bhatta's competing theories on inference. It was found remarkably preserved in a double-walled clay jar buried beneath a shrine.
