Digital Reconstruction of 11th-Century 'Kshana-Vada' Fragments in Bihar Unveils Early Logic on the 'Metaphysics of the Instant'

Scholars at Nalanda University have used AI to reconstruct the 'Kshana-Vada', an 11th-century Sanskrit text found in fragmented form in rural Bihar. The manuscript details a radical philosophy centered on the metaphysics of the present instant, arguing that 'selfhood' is a continuous process of rebirth occurring in every micro-second of awareness.

Unlike Buddhist versions of momentariness, this Vedic-influenced text argues that the 'Eternal' can only be accessed by fully inhabiting the 'Kshana' (moment) through ethical action. This discovery offers a new perspective on the evolution of Advaita logic and its engagement with theories of time and transformation during the medieval period.
