A team of Egyptian archaeologists has unveiled the pristine 26th-Dynasty tomb of the "Master of the Royal Wardrobe" in the Saqqara necropolis. The funerary chamber is adorned with exceptionally rare painted reliefs depicting the pharaoh's ceremonial attire, including intricate details of pleated linen, leopard-skin wraps, and beaded broad collars previously only known from historical texts.
Beyond its artistic value, the tomb contained well-preserved organic materials, including ceremonial sandals and fragments of gold-threaded fabric. These findings provide a unique glimpse into the specialized craft of royal tailoring and the hierarchical importance of court officials responsible for the pharaoh's divine appearance during the Late Period.
