10th-Century 'Vimarsha-Darshana' Scroll Uncovered in Srinagar Vault Explores the Metaphysics of Self-Reflexive Awareness

Archaeologists and Sanskrit scholars in Jammu and Kashmir have announced the discovery of a rare 10th-century birch-bark manuscript titled 'Vimarsha-Darshana'. Found within a climate-controlled subterranean chamber in Srinagar, the text is attributed to an unknown disciple of the legendary philosopher Utpaladeva. It provides an exhaustive treatment of the concept of 'Vimarsha', or the self-reflexive power of consciousness that allows the universe to perceive itself.

Unlike previously known works of the Pratyabhijna (Recognition) school of Kashmir Shaivism, this manuscript focuses specifically on the ethical implications of non-dual awareness in daily governance and social interaction. Scholars suggest that the text argues for a system of 'Applied Monism', where the recognition of the divine self in others serves as the foundational logic for conflict resolution and communal harmony.
