A team of international researchers has successfully utilized Quantum Ground Penetrating Radar (Quantum-GPR) to identify a complex network of funerary chambers beneath the Temple of the Feathered Serpent in Teotihuacan. This high-resolution imaging technology allowed the team to peer through meters of solid stone and volcanic fill without the need for invasive excavation.
The newly mapped chambers are believed to contain the remains of high-ranking elites from the city's zenith. This technological breakthrough provides a non-destructive roadmap for future archaeological investigations and demonstrates the potential of quantum sensors to revolutionize the study of complex urban sites.
