A joint expedition between the Odisha State Museum and international heritage experts has uncovered a 10th-century silk-lined scroll titled 'Vijnana-Vikasha' (The Expansion of Consciousness). Found within a hollowed-out stone pillar in the Ganjam district, the scroll presents a unique Vedic-Tantric synthesis. It details a philosophy where the individual mind is not a static entity but a dynamic 'wave' that expands to encompass universal consciousness through the pursuit of knowledge.

The manuscript is notable for its poetic style and its rejection of rigid caste barriers in the pursuit of philosophical enlightenment. It argues that 'Vijnana' (higher knowledge) is a universal inheritance available to all who practice disciplined self-inquiry. The scroll is currently undergoing stabilization treatment before it will be displayed to the public for the first time in centuries.
