Scholars Decipher 8th-Century 'Samsaya-Bheda' Manuscript in Nalanda Archive Detailing the Logic of Philosophical Doubt

A collaborative team of researchers from Nalanda University and international philologists has completed the decipherment of a rare 8th-century birch bark manuscript titled 'Samsaya-Bheda'. Found in a sealed stone chamber near the ancient library site, the text offers a sophisticated critique of dogmatism and outlines a structured methodology for using methodological doubt to reach higher epistemological certainty.

The treatise is attributed to a hitherto unknown logician, Acharya Bodhisen, who argues that doubt is not a failure of faith but a necessary vehicle for the realization of Tattva (Ultimate Truth). This discovery is set to reshape the history of medieval Indian logic, showing a much more robust tradition of skepticism within mainstream Vedic-based schools than previously recorded.
