Krishna River Basin Find: 6th-Century BCE 'Prana-Tattva' Seals Detail Early Vedic Philosophy of Life-Cycles

During a routine survey of the Krishna River Basin, marine archaeologists found submerged clay seals dating to 600 BCE. These seals are inscribed with symbols and text representing the 'Prana-Tattva', or the essential principles of the vital life-force, describing its movement through various biological cycles.

The discovery is significant for its early mention of cyclic rebirth tied to the ethical quality of one's actions. It highlights a proto-Sankhya philosophy that views the universe as a series of energetic transformations, providing a physicalist basis for the metaphysical concepts of karma and reincarnation that would later dominate Indian thought.
