11th-Century 'Yukti-Vibhrama' Manuscript Found in Bikaner Archive Reshapes Medieval Theories of Logical Skepticism

A previously unknown manuscript, 'Yukti-Vibhrama' (The Illusion of Logic), has been identified in a private archive in Bikaner. The 11th-century work, written in the Sharada script, presents a radical critique of formal logic, arguing that human reason is inherently self-limiting and cannot grasp the Sat (absolute truth) through syllogisms alone.

The text is being hailed as a major discovery for the history of Indian Skepticism. It employs a method of 'double negation' to dismantle contemporary Nyaya arguments, ultimately pointing toward a non-conceptual form of knowing. Scholars believe this text may have influenced the later development of diverse philosophical schools in Western India.
