Restoration Projects Launched at Luxor and Karnak Temples to Enhance Visitor Experience and Structural Stability

Egypt's Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has officially launched a comprehensive restoration and development initiative across the Luxor and Karnak Temple complexes. The project, led by the Supreme Council of Antiquities, aims to reinforce the architectural stability of these UNESCO World Heritage sites while upgrading facilities for international tourists. Key focus areas include the East Bank's main halls and the Temple of Hatshepsut and Seti I Temple on the West Bank.

Specialized teams are utilizing advanced scientific methods to preserve the original polychrome pigments and relief carvings that have faced weathering over centuries. The initiative also involves the installation of new lighting systems and improved signage to better communicate the historical narrative of the sites. Officials stated that the work is scheduled to be completed before the peak winter tourism season to ensure minimal disruption to visitors while securing the monuments' long-term preservation.
