In the Ghaggar-Hakra basin, a team of researchers has uncovered a series of clay tablets dating back to the late 6th century BCE. The tablets are inscribed with a text known as Rta-Anu-Vada, which outlines an early philosophy of "atomistic order," applying the cosmic principle of Rta to the fundamental particles of matter.
This discovery provides the earliest known evidence of Vaisheshika-style atomism within the Vedic heartland, predating the formal sutras of Kanada. It suggests that the intellectual transition from ritualism to a speculative natural philosophy of the physical world was well underway during the Upanishadic era, bridging the gap between sacred cosmology and early science.
