In the high-altitude cloud forests of Peru’s Chachapoyas region, advanced LIDAR scanning technology has located a hidden 2,200-year-old temple. Known as the 'Temple of the Jaguar-Fanged King', the site features massive stone terraces and a central ritual platform that align with the summer solstice.
Initial ground surveys have confirmed the presence of anthropomorphic stone carvings that display a distinct blend of early Andean and Amazonian artistic styles. The discovery offers a rare look into the pre-Inca religious landscape and the sophisticated urban planning of the "Warriors of the Clouds" who occupied the region centuries before Spanish contact. The site’s remote location helped preserve its unique feline-themed stonework.
