Discovery of 5th-Century BCE 'Rta-Samvada-Vatika' Tablets in Haryana Outlines Early Vedic Dialogue-Based Ethics

A new excavation site in the Ghaggar-Hakra region of Haryana has yielded a set of copper-inscribed tablets dated to the 5th-Century BCE. The text, 'Rta-Samvada-Vatika', records a series of philosophical dialogues between forest-dwelling sages on the maintenance of cosmic balance through collective human intent.

The dialogues emphasize the role of 'Sankalpa' (resolved intention) as a primary force that sustains the natural laws of the universe. Researchers believe these tablets provide crucial evidence for a transition period in ancient Indian thought where ritualistic practices were being reinterpreted as psychological and ethical internalizations, paving the way for the later philosophical systems of the classical era.
