A joint mission in the Saqqara Necropolis has announced the discovery of an intact tomb belonging to a high-ranking official from the 26th Dynasty. The occupant, identified as the 'Master of the Royal Sandal-Makers,' served the Pharaonic court, overseeing the production of footwear for the elite and religious ceremonies.

Inside the burial chamber, archaeologists found remarkably preserved painted leather samples and a collection of miniature bronze cobbling tools. The walls are adorned with rare reliefs depicting the intricate process of curing hides and the specific geometry required for royal footwear, offering a unique glimpse into the specialized craft guilds of ancient Egypt's Late Period.
