AI-Driven Decipherment of 7th-Century 'Kutila' Script Fragments Unveils Lost Sanskrit Treatises on the Physics of Torsional Elasticity

A collaborative project between the Varanasi Manuscript Research Centre and AI specialists has successfully decoded a series of damaged 7th-century Kutila script fragments. The deciphered text reveals advanced Sanskrit theorems detailing the physics of torsional elasticity and the mathematical properties of shear stress in organic composite materials, likely used for the construction of high-precision mechanical devices.

The manuscript, titled Tantu-Sakti-Prakasha, provides complex geometric proofs for the energy-retention capabilities of twisted fiber bundles. This research confirms that early medieval Indian scholars had developed a formal mathematical framework for non-linear elastic deformation nearly a millennium before similar concepts were codified in European classical mechanics.
