10th-Century 'Sabda-Chit-Darshana' Scroll Found in Kanchipuram Vault Explores the Metaphysics of Linguistic Awareness

A rare palm-leaf manuscript titled 'Sabda-Chit-Darshana' has been recovered from a hidden granite vault within an ancient temple complex in Kanchipuram. Dated to approximately 980 CE, the text is a profound treatise on the intersection of phonetic vibration and cognitive states, attributed to a previously unknown philosopher named Sri Vidyaranya-Kavi.

The manuscript challenges existing timelines of linguistic philosophy in South India, suggesting that the "Metaphysics of Linguistic Awareness" was far more advanced than previously thought. It details how specific sounds act as bridges between the physical world and pure consciousness, providing a precursor to later medieval theories of semantic illumination found in the schools of Advaita and Vishishtadvaita.
